This is a blog that celebrates the beauty and diversity of Florida's wildflowers - with a bit of a focus on growing these plants in a home landscape. Some of the wildflowers featured here are grown and sold through Hawthorn Hill Native Wildflower and Rare Plant Nursery. Scaleleaf Aster Part 2
I couldn't help posting a few more photos of this wonderful native aster, taken today (December 31) in my Pinellas County landscape. Scaleleaf aster (Symphyotrichum adnatum) is one of the last wildflowers in my landscape to flower and thay remain in bloom for a month or more. The pale lavender petals are quite pretty and their may be as many as 50 open at any one time.
